Privacy policy
What we collect when you contact us, why we keep it, and how to have it removed.
RLM Carrier Group of Companies (“RLM”, “we”, “us”) operates rlmcarriergroup.com. This page explains what personal information the site handles. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), which governs how private-sector organisations collect, use and disclose personal information in the course of commercial activity.
What we collect
We collect personal information only when you choose to send it to us. That happens in one place: the quote form on our contact page. The fields are your name, email address, telephone number, company name, the service you need, the origin and destination of the shipment, and any details you add.
If you call or email us directly, we hold whatever you tell us in that exchange, for the same purposes described below.
What we do not collect
This site sets no cookies of its own. It runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no visitor tracking, and it stores nothing in your browser. We do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone, for any purpose.
Why we use it
To answer your enquiry: to price a lane, confirm equipment and scheduling, arrange the work you have asked us to quote, and keep the records a carrier is required to keep. We do not use your details for marketing unless you ask us to.
Third parties that see technical data
Loading any web page reveals your IP address to the servers involved. Three are used here:
- Vercel — hosts the site and serves its files. Servers may be located outside Canada, including in the United States.
- Google Fonts and Cloudflare (cdnjs) — deliver the typefaces and one animation library the site uses.
- Google Maps — the map embedded on our contact page is served by Google, which may set its own cookies and apply its own privacy policy when that page loads.
We do not control what those providers do with the technical data their servers receive. Their own privacy policies apply.
How long we keep it
Quote requests are kept for as long as needed to respond and, where the work goes ahead, for as long as our business and tax records require. Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted once they are no longer useful.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, so what you send through the form is encrypted in transit. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed absolutely secure, and we do not claim otherwise — please do not send sensitive documents through the form.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us and we will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version appears on this page with a new date at the top.
